Women for Gun Rights is holding a National Summit in Washington DC, September 12 – 14, including a Rally for the Second Amendment on Sunday, September 13, and YOU Should be There!

From their website:

Join us in the nation’s capital for an exclusive, high-energy weekend designed for freedom-minded patriots. From an elegant kickoff gala to hands-on training, a live rally in front of the Capitol, and a Capitol Hill experience that brings you closer to the issues and the people shaping America’s future. It is a rare opportunity to learn, connect, and stand boldly for freedom in one of the most important cities in the world.

The last time Second Amendment supporters rallied at the Capitol in DC, that I’m aware of, was back in November of 2019. We had a great event and a surprisingly good turnout, in spite of the COVID shutdowns that were ramping up at that time. Well there’s no pandemic – or claims of a pandemic – in the forecast for September, so let’s get together and make our voices heard.

Women for Gun Rights is a growing group of moms, grandmas, daughters, sisters, aunts, and wives, along with some supportive husbands, fathers, sons and brothers, dedicated to protecting their – and your – Second Amendment rights. Led by former police officer and professional shooter Dianna Muller, the group, which was formerly known as The DC Project, has for years been sending delegations from all over the country to DC to meet with their elected servants.

This year, rather than inviting one or two members from each state, they’re inviting all of their members to join the festivities, starting with an elegant gala on Saturday evening. The serious business starts on Sunday morning, with training sessions designed to help attendees be more effective advocates, whether talking with members of Congress, representatives of the White House, or members of their local city council or state legislature. There’s a planned lunch break at the beautiful and historic Union Station, and more training after lunch, until folks head over to the Capitol lawn for the rally from 3:00 until 5:00.

On Monday, participants will start putting their training and experience to work, visiting the White House for a briefing – who knows who might stop by – and taking to the Hill to meet with Senators and Representatives. This is where the rubber meets the road, and where many activists make critical connections with their elected representatives and key staff members.

Whether you can make it to DC for the events or not, and whether you’re a woman or not, you should consider joining Women for Gun Rights. It’s a great organization full of skilled, passionate people who deserve your support and would value your participation. All of the events, except the rally, are for members only, and they require tickets. The rally on Sunday afternoon is free, and open to the public, so if you can’t do anything else, try to join me there.

The rally is scheduled to held in Union Square on the west side of the Capitol Reflecting Pool (between the Capitol and the Washington Monument). The rally should run from 3:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon on Sunday, September 13, and will feature a number of speakers. The event is free and open to the public, but if you plan to attend, please RSVP as soon as possible to give the organizers a better idea of what to prepare for.

Don’t sit on the sidelines. Join Women for Gun Rights. Get to DC and attend the Rally for the Second Amendment on September 13. Make your voice heard in Washington. Don’t leave it up to someone else to protect your rights. Just as it’s up to you to defend your life and the lives of your family, it’s up to you to defend your rights and the rights of your family.

If you attend, please look for me and say Hi. I shouldn’t be hard to find in my cowboy hat.
