The whole idea surrounding modern day university student PTSD revolves and spins around the vague ideas of temporal inference, juice boxes, safe rooms adorning nap hammocks and forceable amnesia. This is the new college experience infused with elements of psychological trauma and indoctrination.
Through the Orwellian concept of somebody controlling the present and past to dictate or quantify the future, possessing selective memories fuels revisionism and is advantageous for the survival of chaos that is not only confined to a college campus. “To live is to survive, to survive is to live”.
With the recent civil unrest at Cornell University, an ultra-Liberal Ivy league institution protected by vines and bubble wrap from the rigors of society, students held a series of protests and vigils with the hysterical crowd responding to an alleged gang rape of a female coed at a fraternity house which may or may not have occurred in 2024. This of course included destruction of property in the Cal-Berkely style of shattered windows and graffiti. The pair of suspects in the apparent rape were found not guilty as the case is being revisited.
In completely ignoring the severe consequences of the young men predetermined as convicted as felons by so-called experts in the wake of the Duke lacrosse team sexual assault case twenty years ago, innocent before proven guilty has once again reversed polarity to declare that men, especially fraternity members, are possible likely rapists in the absence of evidence.
Despite the presence of an unruly mob on the Cornell campus, prosecutors have decided to reopen the case with Liberal New York Attorney General Letitia James curiously named as a special prosecutor to “examine the matter”, or simply adding a feminist bias to the insane algorithm in the celebration of life for Gloria Steinem.
As time remains of incapable of healing the wounds of delayed justice surrounding the controversy of the Duke Lacrosse players named as monsters of sexual assault, the latest actions by prosecutors may exist as a bridge to a sordid past that cannot be forgotten and should never be repeated.
Taking the time machine back to 2006, prosecutor Rob Nifong assigned with dispatching justice was charged for tampering with evidence in creating his own version of the truth and ruining lives. Before the dust settled CNN host Nancy Grace and a team of television personalities caved into the visceral appetites of political correctness and condemning the students being tried. Offending members of the media and propaganda were maligned for their damaging influence and deservedly heavily scrutinized for their reckless commentary in potentially ruining lives of selected members of the younger generations.
With the tidal wave of social media and AI now available to pawning off opinions as fact, objectivity has fled for the hills and the narrative of protestors never clean up after themselves persists. As the 15-second span afflicts society along with short-term memory loss, the future shines with the maudlin color of the bleak and the non-descript. These are times when a bottle of Scotch is required, but not necessarily needed.
