Among pro-gun legislative proposals working through state houses around the United States during state legislative sessions taking place right now is one that could impact gun-owning sports fans in Utah.

A bill has been proposed that would allow for gunowners to carry their guns concealed while attending games at Salt Lake City’s Delta Center, the arena which is home to pro basketball’s Utah Jazz and recently became the home of pro hockey’s Utah Mammoth. The bill, Utah House Bill 452, has been proposed by Republican state Representative Candice Pierucci and, according to the Utah legislature’s website, would prohibit the Smith Entertainment Group, who owns the teams and operates the arena, from restricting concealed carry by fans while attending games at the arena.

The bill is currently being discussed by the state’s House Rules Committee.
